About Alternative Provision

The purpose of the Alternative Provision and Home Engagement Team is to extend the provision available to best meet the needs of individual students. We are able to provide high quality alternative provision placements in a variety of educational settings as well as tuition that is tailored around the individual student. Our aim is to support our students in accessing a package of education that will best allow them to gain the skills, knowledge and confidence that will enable them to become more successful within education and wider society.  Please use the links below for more information on each of our current providers.

The alternative provision department is based in the main Hockney Building within a separate area from the rest of the college. It is a department that specialises in the provision of education for school aged learners and is able to offer the support required that many mainstream settings are not able to. As well as GCSE English, Mathematics, Biology and RE, students will also choose a vocational option to study. Currently, these include Hair and Beauty, Childcare and Early Years, Motor Vehicle Studies and Construction. Students will also be given the opportunity to participate in other activities whilst at Bradford College such as boxing, first aid, horticulture, sport, cooking and arts and crafts.

The Home Engagement Team

Bradford AP Academy has qualified home tutors that provide education and support for students that are temporarily unable to access on site provision.  Students requiring short-term tuition can expect to receive lessons in English and Mathematics at their homes for a set number of hours per week. The learning and support provided by the tutors is designed to ensure the safeguarding and wellbeing of each student and make their transition back into provision as successful as possible.
