Our Alternative Provision Providers
Mr Iain Smith
This is a small alternative provision department based within their own area at the main college. They have a very experienced team of staff that are dedicated to providing an excellent standard of education and support to all their school age students. Alongside GCSE English and Mathematics, students will also study qualifications in Sports, Public Services, IT, and Work Skills. Students are also able to select a vocational option to study that can include Motor Vehicle Studies, Health and Social Care, Barbering, Hair and Beauty, Plumbing, Joinery, Electrical and Fabrication and Welding.
The alternative provision department is based in the main Hockney Building within a separate area from the rest of the college. It is a department that specialises in the provision of education for school aged learners and is able to offer the support required that many mainstream settings are not able to. As well as GCSE English, Mathematics, Biology and RE, students will also choose a vocational option to study. Currently, these include Hair and Beauty, Childcare and Early Years, Motor Vehicle Studies and Construction. Students will also be given the opportunity to participate in other activities whilst at Bradford College such as boxing, first aid, horticulture, sport, cooking and arts and crafts.
A very well established provision that seeks to engage students with a particular interest in motor vehicle studies. JAMES combines excellent practical and teaching facilities with an experienced pastoral team to support each individual learner. Alongside the motor vehicle studies qualification students will also attend lessons in English, Mathematics and IT.
A small alternative provision that offers practical, hands on education based around motor vehicle and bicycle maintenance. Alongside a recognised qualification in motor vehicle studies, students will also receive one-one tuition there in English and Mathematics from a qualified teacher. Being attached to a working garage means that students will also have the opportunity to undertake work experience placements there.
TSC is a small, nurturing environment with a strong emphasis on pastoral care. Staff there have lots of experience delivering a range of recognised qualifications to students that thrive in smaller teaching environments. As well as English and Mathematics, students can expect to complete a variety of courses including ICT, Employability Skills, Mental Health Awareness, Health and Fitness, Sexual Health Awareness, Alcohol Awareness, Substance Abuse Awareness and Stress Awareness.

The Home Engagement Team
Bradford AP Academy has qualified home tutors that provide education and support for students that are temporarily unable to access on site provision. Students requiring short-term tuition can expect to receive lessons in English and Mathematics at their homes for a set number of hours per week. The learning and support provided by the tutors is designed to ensure the safeguarding and wellbeing of each student and make their transition back into provision as successful as possible.
