In addition to the above there were 4 Year 10 students who attained qualifications in English and / or Maths. These were students we identified as being vulnerable to not engaging in education till the end of Year 11.

Behaviour and Safeguarding in 2022-23

  • Attendance was 72%, calculated with Year 11 leaving on the date of their last exam. When Year 11 are left on roll until the end of the academic year the attendance is 68%.
  • Pupil attendance was an average of 10% points better whilst at BAPA compared to their previous school attendance. (This is from a smaller sample, as not all schools provide prior attendance figures)
  • There is a very low level of pupil suspension with only 19 students receiving a suspension and accumulating 22 days lost to exclusion. This is reduced from 24.5 days in the previous academic year.
  • For an average eight-week period, pupil attitudes to their self and school (PASS) improve by an average of 25%. This is clear evidence on the positive impact on attitudes and behaviour.


Feedback

Pupil Feedback in 2022-23

  • Over 90% of students felt happy at BAPA for at least some of the time..
  • Over 95% of students felt safe at BAPA for at least most of the time.
  • Over 90% of the students felt their teachers helped them to do their best at least most of the time.
  • Over 90% of students felt that BAPA encouraged students to respect other people as individuals and treat everyone individually.




Parental Feedback in 2022-23

All parents either strongly agreed or agreed that:

  • Their child was happy at BAPA.
  • Their child was safe at BAPA.
  • BAPA informed them of how well their child was doing.
  • BAPA made sure that their child was well behaved.
  • BAPA responded well to any concerns.
  • BAPA supported their child’s personal development.
